The tightest part of the space race was during the Cold War.Both the US and the USSR wanted to show who was the 'man'. After the Cold War, the US has maintained the lead in aeronautics/space.There's not the same sense of purpose. The international space community is important and a superpower showing off is less important.
We no longer need to send manned missions to the moon. The US and other nations have sent unmanned probes to the moon since the '60s (I know you think that the moon landing was a hoax but other countries have sent probes and had unmanned landings on the moon-- the US couldn't have faked all those too) :)

your pseudoscientific friend, hermieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573354614671542627.post-38925655845437545122009-07-21T13:03:37.498-04:002009-07-21T13:03:37.498-04:00Wanda, jaded yes, but such a lovely shade of jade ...Wanda, jaded yes, but such a lovely shade of jade ....

Se'Lah, the morning news yesterday supplied a quote from one of the astronauts, I'll paraphrase: There's nothing there, no point in going back.kathhttp://www.soeursdujour.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5573354614671542627.post-16710536685835515242009-07-21T11:39:04.141-04:002009-07-21T11:39:04.141-04:00Your photo is full of earthly beauty! They can't charge enough to make it profitable to take the rich people who would do it on a lark. No profit. Nothing to gain by going. No records to break.
