Blue Heart...

Every single day you wake up, human beings are being sold as slaves throughout the world. Each year, more than 700,000 men, women, and children are trafficked across borders into forced labour and sex slavery. One in five victims of human trafficking are children. There are MILLIONS of these victims.

I've been thinking about this for a while and I realised that this practise is permitted in part because the value of the "lower class" and illegal immigrants by society at large is *so* incredibly low that people can now be treated as chattel.

Coming by your site tonight, Se'lah, and getting caught up on the posts that I missed over the past few days. Your recap of reading in your daughter's classroom was a pure delight. My mother is a educator at a local university, teaching student teachers. Books and reading have always been a fundamental part of my life. It is wonderful that you are able to share not only a bond through reading with your daughter, but also give her the gift of your surprise appearance in her classroom.

By far the best post I have read in a quite a while.

PS: I adore U2...definitely have to check out their new album. Thanks!

Sometimes we get so involved in our personal lives that it is a challenge to remember that so much goes on outside of our lives that is harmful to the human race as a whole. Thanks for continuing to bring awareness to us all. Happy Conscious Friday!
