rainbow stripes...

This is the gas storage tank which supplies the residents of the City of Boston. For ever, its rainbow stripes have caused tremendous controversy around beantown and beyond. "Why?", you wonder. It is said that the artist painted a subliminal profile of Ho Chi Minh in the blue stripe.

Can you see him?

Are you sure it's not Alfred Hitchcock?

No. I can't see it. And, my answer to the questioners is, "Why not?" It's happy and colorful. We all have to look at those huge old things anyway. Why not give us something to look at?

Wow! Love this picture. And talk about being on the same wavelength. I have a picture of this on my flickr page, with both gas tanks, and literally two minutes ago, just posted it to a new flickr group pool. Oh and I never could see him in there either.

Okay, all I saw was a blue stripe, but my eleven year old son saw Ho Chi Minh (and showed him to me!)

I thought you were going to say something about gay pride, certainly wasn't expecting Ho Chi Minh. I do see the hair line, sideburn and ear. Is that it? Okay, now I see a profile of the eyes, nose, mouth and goatee. (I had to really enlarge it.) Regardless, I think it is probably the coolest tank I've seen. I love it when they get creative with the paint on these eyesores.

Nope! I can't see him but I think the stripes are fun. Calgary has a gas tank with hats painted on it near the airport but check out this gas tank!

What a beautiful way to paint the gas tank in rainbow colors, no matter what controversies there are, I still find this beautiful. LOL.
