Conscious Friday: can't let go...

October is Violence against Women Awareness Month. Earlier this week, hearings were held on Capitol Hill to consider legislation to address violence against women on an international scale. The committee would provide aid through humanitarian relief and grants to local organisations in the affected regions.

Specifically, the Women and Children of Darfur serve as a prime example of this unyielding violence. I am so encouraged by these women and children who despite unspeakably violent circumstances continue to live their lives to the fullest capacity. I pray for them. And I will continue to raise my voice for them. Won't you please join me?

I stand with you and we can't let go. I pray with you! Crime against anyone is unthinkable. However, what these women suffer through hits to the core of my Being. I send so much love, support, positive energy and peace to them every minute of the day!

I love you and I love your level of consciousness about humanity!

I read an article slamming the U.N. for being too chicken to do anything about the violence in Darfur. Isn't this what the U.N.'s purpose is? Really makes me angry.

Thanks for the reminder to pray for these women.

Prayers for these women and women here at home too. I did a post about this a few weeks ago and then had an email from a long time reader to tell me how blessed she was that I had written it -- she had only just gone to a women's shelter to seek help the day before. Prayer works and stopping violence against women is a priority -- always.
