bring the joy...

i love this horsie.

he has been in our family since my daughter was a toddler.
when we relocated, she donated him to her best friend.
we were sad to leave him behind but at the same time
happy he'd be with someone who would ride him and show him love.

my daughter recently reunited with her horsie.
it was the most beautiful moment ever.
it brought tears to my eyes to see her run to him
and drape her loving arms around his neck.
then she jumped on his back and they rode off into the sunset.
her laughter melted my very soul.

doesn't he look happy?
i'd like to think that we brought him a little bit of joy.

If we all remembered the joy that your daughter felt upon being reunited with a love not seen for some time -- if we opened our arms that way to every person we know when we see them, even after a short absence? Wouldn't life be just so sublime. Why do we forget that???

He does look happier...

For me, it was a Gonzo. Remember him, from the Muppets?

For Dylan, it is a stuffed gray monkey that I bought for him at the airport when leaving home for a short trip... I took pictures of it on the plane, and at our new destination, and emailed them to my mom to show him. He was so excited! That monkey is in his bedroom right now, he's here for the long haul.

Hope you are well, friend.

He's a cutie. Horses are my favorite animal and I dream of the day that I can have a couple galloping in my front yard! The sight of your daughter would have melted my heart too!
