we are the world...

Haiti, we will never forget you.

*Yesterday, a classroom collapsed on students in Haiti killing four children between the ages 8 and 9. I can't even begin to imagine...

*There has been at least 64 aftershocks since the devastating earthquake. The rainy season is close at hand (followed by hurricane season), which presents a host on new concerns for the health and safety of the Haitian people. Let's keep our brothers and sisters in Haiti in our prayers and do whatever we can to help them in this time of need. We are the world.

*Jorge Puello, the one-time legal adviser of the 10 Americans being detained on child trafficking charges in Haiti, has recently acknowledged that he faces sex trafficking charges in El Salvador under the name Jorge Anibal Torres Puello. He remains at large as of yesterday. He is wanted by the police in at least four countries in connection with charges including sex trafficking of girls and women, and making counterfeit documents and violating parole.

It breaks my hear that there are still aftershocks going on in Haiti.
I hope they catch that SOB for all of the evil he is spreading around.

My roommate and I were just discussing this recording and all of the artists involved. It is amazing what God puts together, eh?

My heart sinks to learn of the loss of more children. I did hear on the radio that someone who has been trapped since the original quake was just recently rescued, so there is still hope for others.

I need to go to the post office tomorrow - haven't been since last Thursday, I think. Hopefully my little jewel will be waiting for me! =)

I - like you - don't want us (the world) to forget Haiti now. The nightmare is not over for them and they are going to need a long term commitment - not just a coffee date. They continue to be tested ... and so do we. I hope we pass ...

I pray that this song is a big hit and much more money is raised for donation to Haiti and it people in need.

It warms my heart to know that even though the news and reporters have moved on to "bigger and better" subjects, you are still focused on this pressing issue. It is obvious how much you genuinely care, and it is very inspiring.

I am taking comfort knowing that no amount of calamity or natural disaster has ever destroyed *HOPE*; that another generation steps forward to sing We Are the World, that those who profit from others suffering will one day face the Almighty, and that there are people like Se'Lah who help bring out the best in others.

Oh wow that thing about Jorge Puello is so sad... and well i guess all the things u wrote are sad...

I kinda hate this musics celebrities do to raise funds lol but i guess it raises funds so it is cool.

I had a teacher who made us read a book of Jeffrey Sachs named "the end of poverty" i read some parts of the book - i tough it was too basic but i guess it is a good reading for people that don't study those subjects and want to know more on economy and the world.

So i leave here the note: End of Poverty by jeffrey sachs http://www.amazon.com/End-Poverty-Economic-Possibilities-Time/dp/1594200459

Have a blessed friday sista :D
