warmth of love...

relaxing by the fire
with loved ones i hold dear
playing the polar express board game
and listening to my favourite christmas carols
fully immersed in the warmth of the season
yet thinking of those who have not...

My dear friends,

How are you doing?  I've been busy wrapping the most beautiful gifts for the children in need we are sponsoring for Christmas.  Thanks so much for your generous contributions thus far to the Let's be the Village donation drive.  With the placement of each shiny bow, I am gently reminded of a biblical passage my grandmother would always read aloud when I was a little girl...but now I've revised it just a tad...

Let Sisterly love continue;
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers
For thereby, some have entertained angels unawares...

doesn't it just warm your heart to think maybe you have just touched an angel?  such a sweet thought.  one love.

I believe you are the angel that entertains ideas and thoughts that inspire others to generous giving. That is one of the lovliest verses in the Bible.

I always liked that image of entertaining angels unaware....
We are surrounded by angels and you are one to be doing this for the children.

Se'lah, thought of you tonight when U2's song ONE came on the radio. I cranked it up and sang at the top of my lungs while driving home from work in the snow. How could I not?
I love that you speak of giving back. I give each year to a local nursing home, a woman comes and collects money to put together baskets for the elderly who have no visitors. This touches me so much it makes me cry. So I know that these people will have a gift to open on Christmas, and it makes me happy. What I really wish to give them is a visit from someone they love, but how do you give that?
Also instead of donating money to a charity I've chosen to make a difference in the life of someone close to me. I have a dear friend who has undergone the worst year of her entire life (actually I have three friends like that, it was difficult to choose) and because she has suffered so, I plan to treat her to something super special this Christmas. She won't see it coming. Which is all the better. Charity begins at home. She is a friend so she is family!
Your help for the children is fantastic and I'm so happy that you are doing this. Well done.
