embracing life...

i remember not so long ago
as i was giving birth to new leaves
you cursed the pollen i released
because it made you sneeze

but now you curse my naked branches
because they provide no buffer
to protect your frozen cheeks
from the bitterly cold wind

and then there are those
who embrace winter's arrival
because they recognise and appreciate
that each moment is precious

so if you just happen
to drive by a snow covered hill
why not grab your sleds
and go for a ride ;)
wheeeeee...

I love the sound of snow crunching under my feet when I go for a walk...and the quiet that falls over everything after snow. It's magic.

Happy New Year--One Love.

Snow covered hills and bare tree branches are great, for they let us see more, and give this beautiful snowman a wonderful background ;-)

Hi Se'Lah
Just wanted to say thanks for calling by at my blog earlier. I've been struggling with sleep tonight so switched on the computer at 4am and reading your message touched my heart. I'm so grateful that our blogs bring us together and that even during the darkest night I am reminded that each moment is precious.
Much love xx

Love this reminder of winter in the midst of our hot, hot summer!
I'll be in Washington in February, so will get a little taste of what you are talking about.

Looking forward to the new year, and lots of times to connect over the miles. Thanks for the blog visit... wish it had been a real one!

lots of love!

I love Winter - it is my favorite time of year. Sipping coffee while standing bundled up on our back deck - my hands clutching the hot mug - steam rising - the air crisp an clean and almost biting - I love it. And in the life cycle, Winter is a quiet reflective time - to reflect and explore within so one can step into the sun ready and renewed. And don;t even get me started on the excitement and joy I experience at the mere thought of a Winter storm - glorious :-) Beautiful post Se'Lah, just like you.
Love Gail
peace.....

Happy New Year and thank you so much for coming by my blog today. Connecting with you is always just the sunshine I need :)

And what a beautiful poem! I too enjoy the winter for the beauty that it is. I love the trees in all of their phases, whether with new foliage in the spring,in full green during the summer, laden with colorful leaves in fall, or standing tall with their bare branches in winter. To me those bare branches are like a beautiful sculpture. Thank you for sharing such beauty here :)
