Oh yes, I remember the other side of the track, just at the edge. A place where occasionally someone would knock on our back door and my mom would hand a sandwich. I remember the time at Christmas when a family adopted my mom, sister, and I and then criticized us because we had a Christmas tree that I bought with my babysitting money and my mom kept the house spotless. They expected us to look like we were living in filth, but that wasn't my moms way. Oh yes, I remember.
