Just a few random, disconnected thoughts...

1. My last show: Due to an unfortunate miscue between Bono's people and my people, I'm sad to report that the answer isn't U2. Instead, it was almost one year ago when my hubby and I were chanting with Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite in a dark, smoky little hole in the wall club. It was awesome!

2. My last musical: Menopause -The Celebration of Women and The Change. I met one of my college friends in Orlando for some much needed "girl time". I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time...and we were amongst the youngest in the crowd. If you ever get the chance to go see it in your neck of the woods, it's well worth it.

3. My last ballet: Cinderella. Thanks to my daughter's godparents, we had some unforgettable mommy-daughter time at the Boston Ballet. My daughter's been hooked on ballet ever since.

4. The Obama side effect: At one point, there were 3 Black female attorneys in the office (and that was plenty for our county in Florida). We were all different ages, heights, sizes, skin colour, personalities, etc. etc...you get the point. Lucky for me, I was easily distinguished as Rasta girl. But people in the office would always, without fail, call my other 2 friends by each other's names. It was almost amusing to me that they looked nothing alike and people just could not get their names correct. Over time, 2 of us left the office for other career opportunities leaving only one black female attorney in the office. After the Presidential election, a white male colleague who has known her for quite some time approached her and asked, "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Michelle Obama?". Hmmmmm...really guy??? I'm still trying to process that one.

Sometimes the quaint, dark, smoky little hole in the wall clubs beat any large arena especially if the music is great..of course nothing is better than U2..(smile)

Last musical? I can't remember but it's something to consider taking my daughter to. She wants to see Dora the Explorer musical.

My daughter wants to take ballet so I'm sure we will see Cinderella soon.

Your posting on the Obama side effect is hilarious! Someone told me I looked like Oprah Winfrey when I waited tables.. hmmmmmm...really, I said?

Well you get around more than I do. I've only been to one concert, no ballets or musicals. :)

You have GOT to be kidding me! I would have called everyone else by the wrong name just out of spite.

Also - BOSTON! You mentioned Boston! Did you live in the area at the time or do you have family near there?

Hah! Well, you know, there could be waaay worse things than being compared to Michelle Obama. Maybe he meant that she looked confident, intelligent, down-to-earth, like someone who could really make a difference in this country... :)

My daughter fell in love with ballet at the age of 5 and she still adores it, 8 years later. There are times I see her on stage and she honestly takes my breath away. It is a beautiful art.

My last concert was by The Goodnoise Gospel Choir, a group my husband plays bass for. I always leave their concerts feeling uplifted and inspired.

I must say I have terrible sight memory. I do not remember faces very well at all, no matter what the color! When my kids were younger and I would occasionally help in their classes, I could not place names with faces very often. I would have to have spent time with a kid one-on-one before I really placed their face and name together. It's kind of embarrassing sometimes.

If I ever see that musical around here, I would love to see it!

Also, thank you for the allergy advice!
